Quick answers to the most common questions. If you can't find what you need, email support@walkoffworks.com and we'll get back to you.
Open the app, tap + in the top-right of the Teams screen, and give your team a name. Then tap into the team to add players.
From a team's roster, tap + Add Player. Enter their name and jersey number. The player is added to the bench by default — drag them up into the batting order, or mark them as a pitcher in their detail screen.
Yes. On the Teams screen, tap the + menu and choose Import from BallparkDJ. We support BallparkDJ's CSV/text exports plus their voice recording ZIP archives.
From the Game Day screen, tap the QR icon in the top-right. You can scan a GameChanger lineup QR code with the camera or import a screenshot of one from your photo library. The full batting order imports automatically.
30 days. The trial starts automatically the first time you open the app — no credit card required. You'll get full access to every feature, including AI voice announcements, hype videos, and cloud sync.
The app will keep working, but premium features will be locked until you subscribe. We'll show a reminder a few days before the trial expires so it doesn't catch you off guard.
When you tap a feature that requires a subscription (or open Settings → Upgrade), the paywall opens with both plan options. Tap Subscribe on the plan you want. Apple's payment sheet appears with the billing details and a Face ID confirmation. We never see your payment information.
Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → WalkUpJams. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Open Settings inside the app, scroll to Subscription, and tap Redeem Promo Code. Enter the code exactly as written.
Yes. Both Basic and Premium support Apple Family Sharing. Once you subscribe, family members on your Apple Family will automatically get access too.
Open Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. This re-checks your Apple ID for active subscriptions and unlocks the app.
Spotify's free tier doesn't allow third-party apps to start playback. If you have Spotify Free, you can still browse and pick songs in the app, but you'll need to play them through Spotify's own app. We recommend Apple Music or the built-in free songs library if you don't want a Spotify Premium subscription.
Yes — open Settings and pick a different provider any time. If a player has a song from a different provider, you'll see a "Convert" button on the roster that tries to find a matching track. If a match isn't found, you can search and pick the right one manually.
Tap a player to open their setup screen, then tap Choose Walk-Up Song. Search the catalog of your active provider, tap a result to preview, and tap Use This Song to confirm.
After picking a song, scroll to Edit Clip Timing. Set a start time and a clip duration (typically 10–30 seconds). Tap Preview Walk-Up to hear the clip before saving.
Yes. In a player's setup, toggle Pitcher on. A second section appears for the pitching entrance song with its own clip timing and announcement.
In the player's setup, tap Import Audio File. Pick a file from the Files app — MP3, M4A, or WAV. The file is copied into the app and won't be deleted if the original moves.
For AI voices, open the team's roster, tap the voice picker at the top, and pick from Default, Southern, British, or Gameshow.
Yes — by default the announcement plays first, then the music kicks in. There's also a "music delay" setting per player so you can fine-tune the gap.
iOS may have blocked microphone access. Open Settings → WalkUpJams → Microphone and turn it on. The app will show an "Open Settings" button if it detects this.
Open the team and tap Game Day. You'll see your batting order at the top, pitchers below, and bench players at the bottom. Tap a player to play their walk-up song. The announcement plays first, then the music.
While a song is playing, the bottom of the screen shows a Stop button and a Fade Out button. Fade out gives a smooth ~1 second taper instead of a hard cut.
Some Bluetooth speakers go to sleep between tracks. WalkUpJams sends a brief "wake-up" silence before each song to handle this. If your speaker still drops the first beat, try playing any short test sound first to keep the connection awake.
Yes — open Settings and turn on Tap to Select. The first tap selects, the second tap plays.
From the team's roster, tap the cloud icon and pick Upload & Share. The team uploads to the cloud and a share link copies to your clipboard. Send the link via text, email, or any messaging app — the recipient taps it to import the team instantly.
Yes. When you share, set a passcode. Anyone importing the team will need both the share code and the passcode.
The roster (player names, jersey numbers, songs, clip timings, announcement settings) and any audio files (recorded announcements, AI voice files, custom song imports). Apple Music and Spotify songs share as track IDs that resolve to the recipient's chosen music provider.
If both devices have the team open, edits sync on a roughly 10-minute cadence and on app launch/background. To force an immediate sync, tap the cloud icon and pick Sync Now.
A short, beat-synced team intro video. The app combines player photos with transitions, background music, and your team name into a shareable MP4 — great for social media or playing on a big screen before a game.
Open the team, tap the Hype Video button, pick a music track from the curated playlist, and tap Generate. The video saves to your Photos library when it's done.
This is rare and usually self-heals. WalkUpJams will try to recover what it can on the next launch. The original file is kept on disk as corrupt-<timestamp>-default.store for support to inspect if needed. If the issue persists, restart your device, then reinstall the app — your cloud-backed teams can be re-imported using their share codes.
iOS Screen Time or Content & Privacy Restrictions can block music playback. Check Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → Apple Media Services and make sure music is allowed.
Two common causes:
This usually means a network or rate-limit issue. Check that you're online, then try again. If it keeps failing, switch to TTS as a fallback while we look into it — email support@walkoffworks.com with the player name and time of day if you can.
Custom audio files only sync to the cloud if cloud sync is enabled for that team. Make sure the team is uploaded (cloud icon → Upload & Share) before others import it. If the recipient imported before the file was uploaded, ask them to sync the team again.
Most of your data lives on your device — team rosters, songs, clip settings, and any audio files you've recorded or imported. If you opt into cloud sync, that data is stored on Cloudflare R2 (an encrypted object storage service). We don't store your Apple ID, Spotify password, or any payment information.
Delete the app from your device to remove all local data. To remove cloud-stored data, email support@walkoffworks.com with your team's share code(s) and we'll purge them.
